A dispute between a husband and a wife has landed his 10 -month -old baby in the hospital due to the alleged torture and burns inflicted by his father. Ahmed’s father, Amir, supposedly tortured and burned him during an altercation with his wife, Nasima, in his residence in Liaquatabad.
The baby was admitted to the National Institute of Children’s Health (Nich) in critical condition. According to the police, the incident occurred a few days ago when Amir had an argument with his wife and brutally hit his son before placing him on a fire stove. The baby suffered severe burns and was initially transferred to the Abbasi Shaheed hospital before being transferred to Nich.
The authorities were informed about the incident, and the position of the woman’s protection cell and the Nazir Sobia child visited the hospital and registered the mother’s statement. The doctors who attended the baby said that the child was subjected to severe physical abuse and is currently fighting for his life.
Police recorded a case against Amir based on the complaint filed by Nasima, who had married Amir two years ago. She claimed that on June 11, Amir physically abused her son and threatened to kill him by placing her hands and legs on the burning stove, causing severe burns.
Amir was arrested by the Women and Child Protection Unit. During the initial investigation, he said that his wife demanded a divorce, which led to the altercation. However, greater investigation is being carried out to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
