Sweden resumes visa services in Islamabad


Islamabad:

The Sweden government announced on Monday the resumption of visa services in Islamabad after bilateral political consultations (BPC) between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan and Sweden, held in Stockholm on July 2.

The decision will facilitate the Pakistani who seek to visit Sweden for short stays, said a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Pakistan, he said, welcomed this positive development, which reflected the strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries.

As of July 7, Pakistani citizens can request a Schengen visa from inside Pakistan to visit Sweden for up to 90 days.

The Pakistaní delegation to bilateral consultations in Stockholm was directed by the Secretary of Additional Foreign Affairs (Europe), while the Swedish side was directed by the General Director of Global Affairs of the Ministry of Swedish Foreign Affairs.
