- Five-driver design, aptX Lossless and LDAC
- Adaptive ANC and windproof design
- $200 (around £150 / AU$299)
We’ve tested a lot of headphones and are constantly impressed by Soundpeat’s ability to deliver a lot of audio for your money with headphones like the Soundpeats H3. And it seems the brand has been taking some ideas from the likes of Gilette and BIC, who have never found a shaver they didn’t want to cram more blades into: while the Soundpeats H3 had three drivers per earbud, the new Soundpeats Aura Nebula has five.
On top of that five-driver setup, there’s an impressive specification including LDAC and lossless audio, adaptive hybrid ANC, and a wind-resistant design for clear calls. And the price is very competitive: just $200 (about £150 or AU$299, which is cheaper than Apple’s flagship AirPods).
Soundpeats Aura Nebula: Key Features
The advantage of having multiple drivers is that you can play to the strengths of different types of drivers. Here, that means a 10mm dynamic driver for punchy bass, a 6mm planar driver for quick response in the mids, dual balanced armatures for the highest frequencies, and a microplanar tweeter for a little sparkle on top. The result, according to Soundpeats, is an “extensive holographic listening experience.”
“Holographic” seems to be audio companies’ favorite buzzword at CES this year, and in case you’re wondering what it means sonically, it’s generally understood to mean accurate, spacious, and three-dimensional-feeling sound.
Aura Nebula comes with a full collection of codecs including all the really good ones: aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, LDAC, LC3, and Snapdragon Sound. And that’s combined with 3-microphone AI call noise reduction and -55 dB adaptive ANC.
Battery life is 7 hours per earbud with fast wireless charging; there is a 50ms low latency mode for gaming; and there is dual device pairing. And you can customize the sound through the companion smartphone app.
We don’t have a ship date for these new headphones yet, but Soundpeats says they will be available in spring 2026.
