The information minister, Attaullah Tarar, strongly refuted the reports of the Indian media that alleged a terrorist threat to foreign guests who attended the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan.

Speaking in an interview in a private news channel on Monday, he declared that Pakistan was organizing the “peaceful and very skilled” event, dismissing the statements made by the Indian media.

Previously, it was reported that the Pakistan Intelligence Office had issued a maximum alert with respect to a possible plot of undercover terrorist groups to kidnap foreign guests who attended the rescue tournament.

The report appointed several terrorist attire, including Tehreek-I-Taliban Pakistan groups, the Islamic State and Baluchistan-based groups. In addition, he mentioned that Pakistan security forces had deployed high -level protection equipment to guarantee the safety of players and staff.

In response, Tarar denounced the reports as false propaganda aimed at damaging the image of Pakistan and sabotaging the successful housing of the tournament. He accused the Indian media of politicizing sports and the dissemination of lies to undermine the event.

He said: “Pakistan is one of the safest places, and we have been able to carry out the CPI matches in a very peaceful and efficient way.”

Tarar also criticized India’s refusal to tour Pakistan for the tournament, instead of choosing to play all his games in Dubai.

He suggested that India’s campaign against the successful organization of the Pakistan event emerged from jealousy and discomfort in the perspective of an important international sporting event that is celebrated in Pakistan.

The minister highlighted the stadium full at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore during the England VS Australia match last week, praising the positive atmosphere and the presence of international fans. Tarar also refuted low assistance claims, stating that the reports were manufactured.

He concluded reiterating that Pakistan would continue to organize the tournament successfully, rejecting any attempt to spread harmful propaganda.

“The propaganda of India will fall to the face,” he said, Higllighting that the ICC champions trophy was a victory not only for Pakistan, but for the global sports community.
