Taylor Swift has confirmed the official remix of her song Opalite after producer Chris Lake revealed private messages showing how the collaboration came about, with the help of Travis Kelce.
The moment unfolded on February 13, when Lake shared screenshots of his Instagram direct messages with the Kansas City Chiefs star, explaining how the British DJ ended up creating a house remix of Opalitea song from Swift’s latest album. The life of a showgirl.
Along with the post, Lake assured fans that Kelce had approved the messages shared.
“When @killatrav and @taylorswift ask you for an official remix… you do it :),” Lake wrote, adding that his remix of Opalite was now available for pre-order on a limited edition CD.
The messages showed Lake contacting Kelce in mid-January after hearing that he and Swift were listening to her music.
Lake told him that he planned to try to remix the track, although he was unsure how it would turn out.
Kelce responded enthusiastically, praising Lake’s work and calling Chemistry one of his favorite albums at the moment, while also saying he was excited to hear what the producer would create.
Within a few days, Lake said he had something special taking shape, and then he sent out the full version.
Kelce’s reaction made it clear that the remix was a success.
“It’s so good, man,” he wrote. “I’m gonna rip this sh*t out on every car ride. She loves it too!! She said her crews would get back to him ASAP.”
That seal of approval soon became public.
Swift reposted Lake’s update on her own Instagram Stories and added a fun response: “Confirmed, Travis is my housekeeper,” complete with prayer hands emojis.

The release of the remix seems appropriate, as opalite, the third track in The life of a showgirl, was inspired by Kelce’s birthstone and the themes of finding true love after heartbreak.
Swift and Kelce have been together since 2023 and he has been able to see their creative process up close. Swift wrote and recorded the album during the European leg of her Eras Tour in 2024.
Kelce previously reflected on that experience in an episode of his new heights podcast in October 2025, saying, “I’m just the lucky guy who becomes Taylor’s support system as she releases one of the coolest albums I’ve ever heard.” [and] that the world is seen.”
Now that Swift is publicly endorsing the remix and Lake’s version is officially available for pre-order, the behind-the-scenes exchange has become a full-circle moment, in which a DM, a remix, and some enthusiasm from Kelce helped create a new version of Opalite to life.
