Taylor Swift opens up about why one of the most emotional and fan-favorite moments of the Eras Tour means so much to her.

During the episode, Swift explains that the moment has its roots in the original Red Tour, where the song became closely tied to a fun, carefree image.
“He 22 The moment comes from a hat I wore on the Red Tour,” Swift says as images show her wearing a white t-shirt that says “Not much to do right now,” paired with bright shorts and a black fedora.
“So, I really wanted to recapture that moment of having a moment with a fan, where I really get close to them.”
That idea comes to life throughout the tour as Swift kneels, hugs young fans, and places the fedora on their heads during the performance.
According to Swift, the child with whom she shares the moment is never chosen in advance by her.
“I have people in the audience scouring the crowd looking for early ‘era’s, trying to find a kid who knows every word to the songs and is having the time of their lives at this show,” he explains.
He adds that “that kid is basically like a representative of all the kids in that crowd that night.”
Swift also points out how different each interaction can be, depending on the child. Some become shy under the enormous attention, while others instantly light up.
“It could be a little boy who becomes very shy when he suddenly sees 60,000 people for the first time,” he says.
“Or it could be that there are kids who just like to blossom under the bright lights and say, ‘Oh my God, I’m a pop star now.'”
For Swift, these brief exchanges are powerful reminders of why she acts.
“Everything is happening around us and somehow we can have this moment completely between us,” he says. “We’re getting to know each other and everyone else disappears for a second. It just reminds me why I do it.”
The Eras Tour has featured countless versions of this now iconic 22 moment, each one different but equally significant.
