“We took the security of all players and attendees of the tournament extremely seriously,” said the Miami Open in a statement. “We constantly evaluate any potential threat and take each measure to respond properly. To guarantee the effectiveness of these efforts, we do not reveal the details of our security operations.”
The World Tennis Association added: “Player’s security is our highest priority. The WTA works in close collaboration with tournaments and their security teams in best practices for international sporting events to guarantee the safety and well -being of all participants.
