Many Crowdfunded campaigns fail to attract enough promises to convert a project in reality, but that is not the case with Jetkvm, an open -generation open source kvm of $ 69 on the IP device that can control any computer remotely.
It was successfully financed in Kickstarter on December 3, 2024, breaking its $ 50,000 goal with a fry of $ 4,370,767 in promises of the impressive 31,598 sponsors.
Although the campaign is over, it can still become a late sponsor, and the good news is that it should not have much time to wait to receive the product, since Jetkvm is expected to begin to send in April 2025.
Raw RJ11 Extension Port
The small hardware device gives complete remote access to the screen, the keyboard and the mouse of a computer, as well as a KVM physical switch, but through the Internet.
It connects to the HDMI port of the destination machine to capture video and a USB port to emulate input devices. Once configured, you can control the machine from anywhere using a web browser. This is especially useful for headless systems, machines that do not respond or access to remote bios.
The device executes a Buildroot-based Linux system, fed by a RV1106G3 (ARM Cortex-A7, 1.0GHZ) with H.264 and H.265 incorporated coding. Includes 256 MB of RAM, 16 GB of EMMC storage, Ethernet, USB-C, HDMI Mini and a unique RJ11 extension port.
The creators say that Jetkvm transmits a video of 1080p to 60 fps with a latency of 30 to 60 ms. Remote access is handled through Jetkvm Cloud using webrtc for encrypted pairs connections. A 1.69 -inch touch screen shows the state and local controls, and software, written on Go, is open and modifiable through SSH.
The power can be supplied through the USB-C heading, RJ11 or PIN. The RJ11 port, of which we are great fans, admits hardware extensions such as sensors, ATX power control or access to the series console.
Although Jetkvm has financed successfully, and then, some would be negligent if we did not offer our usual crowdfunding warning: delays occur, the characteristics can change and the delivery is not always guaranteed, so take that into account.
