ISLAMABAD:
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has said that since PTI founder Imran Khan’s government was dissolved, terrorism has spread.
“This is a matter of policy, and wrong policies lead to things like terrorism. We will work together to combat terrorism to maintain peace and order in Pakistan,” he said.
Speaking to the media after the National Action Plan Apex Committee meeting, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur said that it was an important meeting and discussions were held on the law and order situation in the country.
“All provinces have resolved to work together to combat terrorism and will not tolerate it in this country.” He added that this was the first meeting since November 26 and presented his position. “We are a political party and the people of this country have adopted certain attitudes about which we have reservations. Pakistan is our priority and we will fight terrorism together to restore peace and order in the country,” Ali Amin Gandapur said. He further stated that the army, FC and security agencies are fighting against terrorism, with many youths martyred in the fight. “We will go to the last limit to put an end to terrorism and guarantee peace.”
Regarding Kurram, Ali Amin Gandapur said that the situation in Kurram and Afghanistan was discussed in detail in the meeting. “The government conducts negotiations and if we have the opportunity, we can involve the tribes and hold talks through a jirga. “The problem in Kurram is not terrorism, but a conflict between two groups. The Kurram issue has existed for a century,” Gandapur noted.
He expressed his gratitude to all members of the Great Jirga who helped resolve the issues there and also acknowledged the important role played by local advisors. Regarding the Kurram issue, he noted that 99% of the signatures have been obtained in the jirga, and the rest of the signatures will be completed today.
“The entire Kurram issue is already resolved and the routes will be opened soon to provide facilities to the people.”
Ali Amin Gandapur claimed that since the PTI founder’s government was dissolved, terrorism has spread. This is a matter of policy, and wrong policies lead to terrorism. Their policy was wrong before and remains wrong.
“Both the policies of PDM One and PDM Two are wrong. The responsibility for the border lies with the military and the federal government. As for the colonized areas below, the responsibility is entirely mine and I accept it.” The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister further stated that when people cross the border, it is obvious that they will enter the cities and take action. “The question arises: where do these people come from and how do they get in?” he concluded.
