Three Terrorists of Tehreek-E-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), including one allegedly involved in last year’s attack against Chinese engineers, were killed in a joint operation by the Terrorism Department (CTD) and intelligence agencies in the Karachi mangopir area on Sunday night.
On November 5, 2024, a private security guard in a textile factory in Karachi opened fire and seriously injured two Chinese citizens.
According to the police, the deceased suspect, identified as Zafran, had a reward of RS20 million and was accused of participation in the 2024 Liberty textile attack that attacked Chinese citizens. He was also linked to the assault of the Karachi Police Office (KPO).

The incident led to a promise from Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to improve the safety of Chinese citizens in Pakistan.
He stressed that the protection of Chinese citizens remained a priority, especially given the Chinese economic corridor projects -Pakistan (CPEC), vital for the bilateral relationship between the two countries.

The head of CTD, Raja Umar Khattab, said that the raid was launched according to credible intelligence with respect to a terrorist hiding place in Fatima society in Ijtema Gah Road.
Police said the terrorists opened fire when they saw them approaching, causing a shooting that lasted more than an hour.
The three alleged terrorists were killed, police said, added that a completely assembled suicide jacket, three grenades, a Kalashnikov rifle, two guns and a large cache of ammunition recovered from the site.
In addition, the police found a newspaper that listed two to three prospective objectives of high value.
The second deceased suspect was identified as Qudratullah and the identity of the third has not yet been confirmed.
The CTD chief said the three alleged murderous terrorists belonged to the TTP cell sent from Afghanistan. Intelligence officials had been watching the cell for several days, he added.
Khattab also added that the TTP cell in question is believed to have five members, but only three were present in the Safehouse during the raid.
A search operation is being carried out in the area and additional investigation.
