Balochistan witnessed two violent incidents on Saturday, since the unidentified gunmen killed four workers in the Kalat district, while the assailants opened fire against a police mobile in the Noshki district, martyring four police officers.
A statement by Captain of Kalat DC (RETD) Jamil Baloch said that “the unknown assailants opened fire and killed four workers” in the Malangzai area of the Mangohar City of Kalat around 2:30 pm
The statement said there was a survivor and that the five individuals, residents of Sadiqabad, were working as borewell drills. In addition, he pointed out that the Levies staff arrived at the site, added that the bodies were taken to the Mande Haji Rural Health Center for their medical exam.
“Greater investigation is being carried out and FIR will be presented against those responsible,” said the DC.
Although no group immediately attributed the responsibility of the horrible murder, BLA terrorists prohibited have carried out similar executions in the past.
Shortly after, another attack against a police mobile in the Noshki district martyred four police officers, while the assailants fled the scene.
The security forces launched a search operation to track the perpetrators.
No group had assumed the responsibility of an attack until the presentation of this report.
President Asif Zardari strongly condemned the attack and requested effective action against terrorist elements aimed at unarmed workers.
“Going to innocent and civil workers is a more brutal and condemnable act,” he said in a statement.
Separately, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that those who attacked poor workers and workers were the “enemies of humanity” and resolved to eliminate all forms of terrorism in the country.
Baluchistan’s Prime Minister Sarfraz Bugti condemned attacks as a “brutal act of terrorism.”
“The blood of the martyrs will be explained and the anti-state elements are made an example of. Each conspiracy to interrupt the peace of Baluchistan will fail!” He said in an X publication.
Balochistan has witnessed an increase in violence, with the recent kidnapping of Jaffar Express in the district of the province last week.
Last month, unidentified armed men killed seven people traveling to Punjab after downloading them from a passenger bus in the Barkhan district.
In two separate incidents in April 2024, nine people were killed after being forced to leave a bus near Noshki, while two Punjab workers were shot in Kech.
In May last year, seven Punjab barbers were shot dead near Gwadar. Similarly, in August, 23 travelers were taken from trucks and buses and triggers fatally in the Musakhail district.
