Stablecoin Itemor Tether has frozen $ 28 million in USDT in the Russian Cryptographic exchange of Russian Garantex.
Garantex, who has been sanctioned by the European Union for links with the Russian government and criminal organizations, has suspended all its services temporarily, announced the exchange on Telegram on Thursday.
“Tether has entered the war against the Russian cryptography market and blocked our wallets worth more than 2.5 billion rubles,” Garantex said.
“Keep in mind that the entire USDT in Russian wallets is now under threat. As always, we are the first, but not the last,” he added.
