Texas man sentenced to 18 months in prison for harassing Caitlin Clark

Michael Lewis, a 55 -year -old man from Texas, was sentenced to more than 18 months in prison after declaring himself guilty of harassing and harassing the superstar of the fever of Indiana Caitlin Clark.

Lewis was arrested in January at a hotel in Indianapolis and accused of severe harassment after allegedly sending repeated threats and violent messages to Clark through social networks, according to court records.

“This resolution ensures that the accused is responsible for his threatening actions, the fear he instilled and the interruption he caused,” said Marion County prosecutor Ryan Mears, according to Wthr Ch. 13 in Indianapolis after Lewis’s sentence. “Now it will spend the next two and a half years in the correction department, and the victim may have peace of mind while focusing on what matters to him.”

Lewis was also ordered to avoid any contact with Clark, to stay away from fever or Indiana Pacers games and team properties, and not use the Internet as part of his prayer, according to Wthr.

He was also recommended to receive mental health treatment.

“It cannot be avoided until helping,” the judge told Lewis, who said during the Monday hearing that the end of the world was approaching.

Lewis was sending Clark messages through his X account, and one of them said he had been driving his house several times, encouraging it “not calling the law yet.” He also sent that he bought tickets to a game just behind the bank.

Clark had told the authorities that he feared for his safety before Lewis entered Indianapolis, adding that he would alter his appearance before leaving in public.

When asked about the January 8 message, Lewis told the Police that he would go to Indianapolis for vacations and minimized the amount of messages he sent to Clark. He added that it was a “fantasy thing” and a “joke.”

“A lot of courage is needed for women to appear in these cases, so many not,” Mears said when Lewis was arrested, through Fox 59. “In doing so, the victim is giving an example for all women who deserve to live and work in Indy without the threat of sexual violence.”
