- According to reports, the iPhone 17E will have a dynamic island instead of a notch
- You could also have a new chipset and a new design.
- However, many of its other specifications can remain unchanged
The 17E iPhone seems to be a great step by the iPhone 16E, with the new key addition that is possibly the dynamic island.
This agrees with the Digital leak station of good reputation leaks (through Gsmarena), and would not mean more notches, putting the front design in line with the last iPhones.
The same source also states that the iPhone 17E will have an A19 chipset, which would probably mean the same chipset as the iPhone 17, but it says that once again it will have a 6.1 -inch 60Hz screen, a single 48MP rear camera and a 12MP front camera with face ID.
That is unfortunate, since many Android medium -ranking phones, including the key rivals of iPhone ‘E’ such as the Samsung Galaxy S24 Fe and Google Pixel 9A, have multiple rear cameras and 120Hz screens. Therefore, this could be a somewhat committed phone and a difficult sale, even at a price that is probably a bit lower than other iPhone 17 models.
A new intriguing design
However, intriguingly, the digital chat station also seems to affirm (through an automatic translation) that the iPhone 17E will obtain a third update in the form of a new design. However, it is not clear what they mean with that: the movement to a dynamic island would certainly be a change, but this seems to be a separate point that they are doing, which suggests other changes.
We hope that the rest of the iPhone 17 series adopts a new pixel -type camera design, so it is possible that this is what the source refers, in which case the iPhone 17E might resemble the iPhone 17 Air, which is also expected to have a rear camera, from the back.
Alternatively, they could refer to the addition of a camera control button, which is present in the main line of the iPhone 16 but absent from the 16E iPhone, but that is just speculation.
We may not discover with certainty what characteristics the iPhone 17E obtains or does not obtain for a while, with the only filtration of the launch date until May of next year. But if he doesn’t care too much to have multiple rear cameras or a high screen update rate, then the iPhone 17E could be worth it.
