Ryan Phillippe can be missing in the last I know what you did last summer Revival, but is not due to the lack of affection for the original star.
Although three of Ryan’s cast companions repeated their iconic roles in the new installment, the actor, who played Barry Cox in the 1997 cult classic, does not make a cameo in the film currently in theaters.
According to producer Neal H. Moritz, who has been with the franchise since its inception, fitting Ryan in a story already full of nods to the past was simply not in the letters, by People’s magazine.
“I would have been pressing it,” he said to the publication, referring to the abundance of nostalgic Easter eggs of the film.
Jennifer Kaytin Robinson’s co -manager echoed that feeling, assuring fans that the actor’s absence was not personal.
“It just had to be too much,” he explained.
“We have a mention from Barry Cox. He receives thanks. But yes, he began to feel like many ideas.”
Even so, Robinson hinted that the door is not closed for a future return. “It’s not for lack of love for Ryan, he’s incredible,” she said.
She concluded by saying: “And I think there is a very fun way to integrate Ryan into a sequel that I hope will happen.”
