Afghanistan’s Taliban government on Saturday did not send its envoy to a global summit on Muslim girls’ education also attended by Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai.
The two-day conference hosted by Pakistan has brought together education officials from dozens of Muslim countries, but without Afghanistan, the only country in the world where girls are banned from going to school.
Federal Minister of Education and Vocational Training Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui had extended a formal invitation sent to the Afghan interim government to participate in the conference.
