Airbnb has been a disruptive since it arrived on the scene in 2007. Now, in its annual summer launch event, it is redesigning its application to facilitate navigation and, ultimately, level what you can expect from a stay in one of its many properties worldwide.
For example, while you get a little more space with an Airbnb, you can lose some comforts, be it a gym, an attached restaurant or even a little self -care. The response of the technology company is called Airbnb services, essentially a way of reserving a service such as a massage, a haircut or even a chef to get where you stay.
This aims to fill out the vacuum that could get from a hotel, but also gives the visitor, a little more control, with the option of looking at the available options and choosing the ones that best fit their needs.
Similarly, Airbnb Experiences aims to replace the mundane with memorable, which allows you to reserve activities of the locals in the cities where they stay to make the most of them. These seem especially fun, and in a launch event, Airbnb certainly took out the talent to improve this.
Then, joining all this is a redesign application that seems much easier to navigate and acts more as a useful partner. If you have a reserved permanence, as well as services or experiences, you can group them as an itinerary for you, listing important reminders.
1. Reserve a haircut, massage or a meal served with services
The services seem the most accessible addition, and probably one of the most requested. Instead of finding out if the host approves of a third, Airbnb manages the investigation and will offer 10 categories of services in the launch. Those include chefs, photographers, massages, spa treatments, personal training, hair treatments, makeup, nails, prepared meals and catering.
At the beginning it will be launched in 260 cities around the world and lives directly in the Airbnb application: there is a complete category of ‘services’ at the top, and after reserving a location, or is considering, you can see the recommended services.
Airbnb is investigating service providers and promises that each one has about 10 years of experience in the respective industry. In addition, each instructor or supplier must go through a verification process and list the applicable training or certifications.
The services will begin at $ 50 in the US. Airbnb is also encouraging suppliers to request to become host of services on the platform.
However, the real kicking here, and one that could potentially have the work of worried tasks, is that you do not need to book an Airbnb house for a stay for use services or experiences (more about this at one time).
If you need a photographer for a birthday party or a shower, you can activate Airbnb on your iPhone or Android phone, look at the reviews and hire a professional. The same for a Hibachi chef for a girls of girls, in an Airbnb or in their own home, or for a supplier specializing in soup meatballs.
2. Memorable moments folded experiences
Next to the services, the AIRBNB application will be ‘experiences’ with a hot air balloon icon. And similar to the houses of ‘icons’ in which Airbnb allows people to enter to win a stay, such as the house of Above or the control room of Outward -Experience is a little more cake in heaven, in the best possible way.
These are unique activities administered by people from where you stay that goal of allowing you to really immerse yourself in place. It could be a cooking class or a gastronomic experience, but instead of only one meal in a restaurant, it is interactive and potentially directed by a Michelin stars chef, or you can refresh your wardrobe with a celebrity stylist.
Similarly, instead of just visiting a historical place, it can be guided through the site with a dedicated historian or take a training class with an expert in that specific field. The idea is to have real experts for a more convincing and good experience.
The experiences will be launched in 650 cities worldwide, and Airbnb says that will expand. There will also be a higher level called Airbnb Originals, which the company promises could lead to eat barbecue with Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City or play volleyball with an Olympic. There is no word about prices for these, but I suppose these could be more similar to Airbnb icons, since you enter to have the opportunity to use them.
Most likely, you meet the most standard Airbnb experiences, which aim to be more than only standard.
3. Redesign of the application
Helping to make everyone more attractive and honestly more integrated in an Airbnb reserve, perhaps a beach bungalow, an elegant loft or a classic cabin, the application is also becoming smarter in some key ways. The design aims to make this flow a little easier, and for the application to act as a partner that serves reminders and suggestions.
However, the greatest change is that Airbnb now allows users to look for properties worldwide along with the best services and experiences in one place. Under the hood, Airbnb says that it has built a completely new technological battery that adds capacity for these new offers and establishes a large track for the future.
And I think it hints the widest game here: Airbnb does not want to be an application that opens once or twice a year for a great vacation or a trip. Rather, it is there and it is an application with more tools in your chest, which allows you to reserve more informal everyday services, but also more memorable, whether it is in motion or for a stay.
Carolina Milanesi, president and main analyst of Creative Strategies, told Techradar: “Expanding to the services makes a lot of sense, since it allows a richer experience than the stay in itself and can certainly add it by adding a more visceral component for the stay, say having multiple contact points throughout the year.”
It certainly adds, and this could also increase the airbnb user base. We will be practical with the new application, and maybe even an experience or two soon, so we will inform more. But if you want to try it, update the latest version of the Airbnb application now.
