The airlines return to the Pak skies

LAHORE:

Air traffic has returned to normal after recent interruptions caused by Pakistan-India conflict. All international airlines have resumed operations through Pakistan airspace, except for Indian carriers, who remain restricted.

Talking to the media at Lahore Press Club, director of Public Relations of the authority of the Pakistan Airport (PAA), Saifullah, he said that international airlines had temporarily redirect flights during the recent climb, but since then they have returned to their regular routes.

He confirmed that, according to the Government Directive, Pakistan’s airspace will remain closed to Indian Airlines until June 24.

Skardu airport is updating while a new system is introduced at the Chitral and Gilgit airport. Under a new system, flight operations will continue regardless of climatic conditions, said the director of PAA.

He said that bird strike incidents had decreased by 15 percent in Karachi, while 36 of this type were reported in Lahore.

The PAA official said the authority will execute a campaign in collaboration with local governments to get rid of the spoils during Eidul Azha.

He said there was a policy to outsource airports.

Meanwhile, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has imposed the prohibition of flying drones, comets, pigeons and other objects around Islamabad airport.

The restriction is placed after bird strike incidents, which cause damage to airplanes, and will remain in force for a month. The areas around the Noor Khan and Qasim Airbase Air Base will also be under the restriction.

The attached commissioner Hasan Waqar Cheem has issued a notification under section 144. In addition, there is also a prohibition of aerial shots for a month.
