A delegation from the United States Congress asked the Chief General of the Army (COA) to General Syed also at the General Headquarters (GHQ) and praised the fundamental role of the Pakistan army in the fight against terrorism, said Express News.
According to Public Relations between Services (ISPR), the Delegation of the United States Congress was directed by Congressman Jack Bergman, and included Congressman Thomas Suozzi and the Honorable Jonathan Jackson.
During the meeting, both parties discussed matters of mutual interest, with a particular emphasis on regional security and defense cooperation. The two parties reaffirmed the importance of sustained commitment based on mutual respect, shared values and strategic interests.
The ISPR declared that American legislators appreciated the important contributions of the Pakistan army in the fight against terrorism and recognized the continuous efforts of Pakistan to promote regional peace and stability. The delegation also praised the resistance of the Pakistani nation and recognized its strategic potential.
Expressing respect for the sovereignty of Pakistan, the United States delegation reiterated its commitment to improve broad -based bilateral cooperation in areas that include safety, trade, investment and economic development.
According to the official statement, the general also thanked the delegation for his visit and emphasized that Pakistan seeks to strengthen and diversify his long -standing association with the United States further. He stressed that this relationship should be rooted in mutual interests and respect for national sovereignty.
The ISPR also pointed out that Memorandes of Comprehension (MOU) were signed during the meeting to promote training cooperation in the field of information technology.
