Dhaka: The Asian Council of Crickt (ACC) concluded its annual general meeting (AGM) on Thursday in Dhaka, with the 25 member countries present.
The president of ACC, Mohsin Naqvi, praised the Cricket Board of Bangladesh (BCB) for its exceptional hospitality during the two -day meeting.
“I would like to thank BCB for its warm hospitality and all member countries for their active participation,” Naqvi said at a press conference after the meeting.
Naqvi, who is also president of the Cricket Board of Pakistan (PCB), stressed the collective resolution of member nations to boost Asian cryket forward.
“We have decided to work together to improve Cricket,” he said.
Naqvi described the AGM as “fruitful and memorable”, indicating productive results and a positive collaborative spirit among the participating nations.
“These two days were really memorable. No one wants the policy involved: the meeting was held in a very positive environment.”
Regarding the 2025 Asia Cup, Naqvi said that a final decision will soon be made, and added that the discussions with the Cricket Control Board in India (BCCI) are ongoing.
“A decision on the Asia Cup will be announced short,” he said. “The conversations with the Indian Cricket Board are ongoing, and we are optimistic that everything will be resolved in due time.”
Responding to concerns about the absence of certain people, Naqvi clarified that although not everyone could attend in person, each Member Board was represented.
“Some people could not get to Dhaka, that happens. I missed a meeting in Singapore once. Sometimes it is due to programming conflicts, but the important thing is that all members were represented.”
Emphasizing the importance of unity and collaboration, NAQVI highlighted the collective responsibility of working for the growth of Crick in the region.
“This is a team effort, and we will continue to celebrate such meetings in the future,” he added.
He also confirmed that the discussions with the Bangladesh Board on several issues are underway.
