The general director of Public Relations between Services (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, said the army has no interest in interacting with political parties and that they should not be dragged into politics.
In an interview with the URDU of the BBC, the military spokesman reiterated that the institution has constantly maintained that the policy is the domain of the elected representatives.
“The Army has always been clear that politics is the work of politicians. Whatever any party that is in power, represents the State at that time,” he said.
He said that Rumors and assumptions without foundation were often extended against the military by political objectives. “When the Marka-E-Haq arrives, has the army fulfilled its responsibilities? Has the nation ever felt the absence of the army?” asked.
DG ISPR emphasized that the army remains focused on its professional responsibilities, and its loyalty meets the people of Pakistan, the country’s territorial integrity, sovereignty and its protection.
He also noted that the military have acted according to the directives of elected governments, both at the federal and provincial level, on several occasions.

When commenting on the situation in Baluchistan, DG ISPR rejected the narrative that the people of the province distance themselves from the military, qualifying as an Indian propaganda.
“We are the popular army. Baluchistan is part of Pakistan, and there is no separation between the two, it is the crown of our nation,” he said.
Lieutenant General Chaudhry added that federal and provincial governments are working in several sectors to improve the well -being and prosperity of the people of Baluchistan.
