He has spent about a year since NBN CO announced that he would introduce large speed updates in his fixed line network. Now we are only seven days after its official launch, with the date scheduled this Sunday, September 14.
Whether this is the first time you find out the updates, or if you have been together with the latest updates, if you want to make the most of, there are some things you need to order.
Not only do you need to know what speed level you want for your home, the options of new plans are 500mbps, 750 Mbps or 2,000Mbps, but you should also have the infrastructure and hardware necessary to support it.
I’m not sure what we are talking about? Let us explain everything …
What does all this have about updates?
NBN CO will turn the change next Sunday, September 14, releasing its new wave of speed of the plan in the process. This will see the introduction of a new ‘Hyperfast’ 2GBPS level, along with the updates to the best NBN 100 plans and the best NBN 250 plans. These will receive a 5x speed and a 3X speed impulse, respectively.
After Sunday activation, Australians will have a greater option when examining faster
It sounds good, what is the capture?
It is not necessarily capturing, but there is a strict criterion that must be satisfied to obtain access to new speed levels, and that is the type of connection it has in its facilities. More specifically, you must have a fiber to the facilities (FTTP) or the type of coaxial hybrid fiber connection (HFC). If you have something else, fiber to the curb/node (FTTC/N) or fiber to the building (FTTB), then unfortunately you will lose it.
However, the good news for the FTTC/N facilities is that it is likely to be eligible for the NBN Co. free fiber update program if it is eligible and choose to activate it (we cannot think about many reasons why it would not), then a technician will come to its facilities to install the updated and necessary equipment.
Customers with a FTTB connection, usually those in apartments, unfortunately have no way to the fastest levels. While you cannot obtain a high -speed NBN plan (the maximum discharge speed you can achieve through NBN is 100 Mbps), it can be in the TPG dedicated fiber network itself that you can deliver Gigabit speeds to your apartments unit, or you can find that you can connect through another private network such as Opticomm or Gigacomm.
Opticomm and Gigacomm Internet plans are established or have already received, speed increases similar to up to 2,000Mbps. You must consult with your favorite provider if you can access them.
I have the correct type of connection, anything else?
Potentially, yes. Having the correct type of connection at home is only part of the high -speed NBN plan puzzle. While the installed equipment will bring faster speeds to your home, you must also make sure you have a router that is capable of delivering the speeds you are paying to your devices.
If you have been using the same router in recent years, it was perhaps one supplied by your current Internet provider, then there is a good possibility that you are now a bit outdated and do not prepare for the fastest speeds that reach us.
As you will discover in our in-depth guide related to the ideal routers for NBN updates, you want to look for one that, at least, admit the Wi-Fi 6 technology. However, since it is likely that you have more connected devices at home than you believe: think of smart lights, appliances, speakers, etc., then we recommend looking for a router that admits Wi-Fi 6e or Wi-Fi 7.
Your chosen Internet service provider (ISP) ought Offer a compatible router when registered for a new plan, but in our experience, this is not always the case. With this, we mean that they supply a Wi-Fi 6 router only. As mentioned, this is fine, but a router compatible with 6e or 7 will offer greater future support.
Can I get an updated plan today?
Yes you can! We are anxiously waiting for the complete list of plans and prices of the innumerable ISP to go live, but some suppliers jumped the weapon very early, throwing 500mbps and 750 Mbps plans a few months ago. The multi-gigabit nbn 2000 plans are not yet found anywhere, but this is because they really require NBN to turn the switch.
Exetel is an outstanding option in our opinion with its NBN 500 plan. Telco has eliminated all other plan options, so unless you have the necessary infrastructure in your home, you cannot register at the supplier.
Spintel is the only supplier that offers a 750 Mbps plan at this time, of course, we hope this changes in a week, so it is its only option for this particular speed.
If these updated speeds sound like something you want to be part, but you No Have the necessary equipment, our recommendation, at this time, it would ultimately retain one more week and see what other suppliers are charging for their plans.
Of course, you can choose to register with the plans of Exetel or Spintel mentioned above so that your technical visit is reserved as soon as possible. However, if you are happy to wait, you could find that the cheapest plans will be available.
