The book, “Seat 1C: A Survivor’s Tale of Hope, Resilience of Renewal”, written by Pia Crash survivor, Zafar Masud, was presented during an event organized by “Milkar” in Karachi on Saturday.
The Mir Khalil-Ur-Rehman Foundation (MKRF), in association with British Asian Trust, launched the national “Milkar” campaign to address mental health problems in Pakistan last year.
Milkar’s “campaign is aimed at raising awareness, eliminating stigma, raising red flags, profile success stories and facilitating the provision of help.”
In his book, Masud, one of the two survivors of the Pia plane shock in Karachi in 2020, discussed the impacts of traumatic events in human life. The book also analyzes its experiences after the shock, its recovery trip and the author’s autobiography.
A lot of people from different areas of life attend the event.
In the tragic incident of May 22, 2020, 97 passengers and crew members were killed when a Flight Pia bound for Karachi, PK-8303, crashed in the Karachi model colony. However, two passengers aboard the unfortunate plane survived miraculously.
Remembering the moments of the tragedy, Muhammad Zubair, the second survivor of the plane crash, said: “The entire plane was on fire, I survived miraculously.
“I still can’t believe I walked to the hospital after the accident,” he added.
“Even today, I feel fear during takeoff and landing,” Zubair said.
