- The new Mobile Backbone Pro mobile controller has been revealed
- It comes with full size thumbs and portable rear inputs
- It also has a unique wireless connectivity function and up to 40 hours of battery.
Maker Backbone Peripheral Gaming has revealed the backbone Pro, a new mobile controller.
The Backbone Pro is effectively a thicker version of the existing spine, but is full of additional features. This includes the incorporation of full size thumbs and portable rear buttons.
You can reassign each button in the compatible backbone application, creating custom control profiles for your favorite games. The application has also been updated with new features, including a built -in retro game emulator.
Where Backbone Pro is distinguished from some of the best mobile controllers is in its unique wireless mode. In addition to the standard-type USB connector, the controller can be linked to phones, tablets, laptops, VR headphones and smart televisions through Bluetooth.
According to the company, its flowstate technology will allow the Backbone application to remember previous even devices and change with each other with a touch.
In wireless mode, it offers up to 40 hours of play with a single load.
In general, it seems a fairly formidable update compared to the spine. I am a great admirer of the full size thumbs of mobile controllers such as Razer Kishi Ultra, so I think it could be a real game change here.
My only complaint is that the backbone Pro does not seem to use the hall effect thumbs, which are highly appreciated for their durability and precision and are found much cheaper from brands like Gamesir.
The thumbs of the spine of the spine have at least anti-fractic rings, which should help reduce the possibility of wear.
The Backbone Pro is available today through the backbone website, although official prices will be confirmed.
