The new biopics of The Beatles have suffered a major problem.

The makers of all four Beatles biopics have reportedly been banned from filming on the iconic Abbey Road.

Earlier this year, Sony confirmed the cast for all four Beatles projects after a sea of speculation, with all four films set to be released in April 2028.

Paul Mescal will play Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson will play John Lennon, Barry Keoghan will play Ringo Starr and Joseph Quinn will play George Harrison in the Fab Four films.

However, with production underway, it is now claimed that bosses have been prevented from filming at the iconic Abbey Road junction.

Sam Mendes, who directs the films, wanted to recreate the Beatles’ 1969 album cover at the intersection.

Westminster Council has reportedly refused permission because filming at the legendary location would force the road to be temporarily closed, causing traffic chaos.

A source told The Sun: “It is believed they rejected the request on the basis that they would have to close the road for filming to take place safely.”

And they continued: “The problem is that the large number of tourists who visit the area often cause disturbances by taking photographs recreating the scene.”

“That would be magnified if there were dozens of actors and crew present to do the same thing in the ‘movie’. Now the producers are faced with the prospect of omitting the scene because they don’t really want to rely on CGI because that wouldn’t look authentic,” the source further mentioned.

“The hope is that they create a path that looks similar enough that they can make it happen somehow,” the source concluded.
