- Masimo Corporation presents a new report with the confirmation attack of the SEC
- He says he suffered a cyber attack that
- There are no threat actors, responsibility was affirmed
Masimo Corporation has confirmed the suffering of a cyber attack that paralyzed his operation and forced him to close parts of his infrastructure to address the problem.
In a new 8-K form presented to the United States Stock Exchange and Securities Commission (SEC), Masimo said he saw an unauthorized activity in his local network on April 27, 2025.
He responded by activating his incident response protocols and isolating impacted systems, and brought third -party cybersecurity experts to analyze the attack and notified the application of the law.
Ransomware or not?
The investigation is still ongoing, said Masimo, but confirmed that the attack paralyzed its operations: “As a result of the incident, some of the company’s manufacturing facilities have operated at less than normal levels, and the company’s capacity to process, fulfill and send customer orders on time has been temporarily impacted,” says the file.
“The company has been working diligently to put online the affected parts of its network, restore normal commercial operations and mitigate the impact of the incident.”
The attacks that force companies to close parts of their Net of IT generally end up being ransomware.
However, since Masimo cloud systems seem not to be affected by the attack, this may not be the case. The investigation is still ongoing, so we will have to wait and see. In addition, no threat actor has assumed the responsibility of the attack yet.
Masimo is a medical technology based in the United States that develops non -invasive monitoring solutions such as pulse oximetry and brain function monitoring.
Medical care organizations are often the objective of ransomware attacks, since they generate and have large amounts of highly sensitive information. Medical data can be reselling in the dark network for profit, or used in directed phishing attacks and identity theft.
