Caitlin Clark It could be alone in its second season in the WNBA, but what it has already done for female basketball is enough for Cooper Flagg to place it in its Mount Rushmore.
During your introductory press conference after being selected first in general by the Dallas Mavericks On Wednesday night, Duke’s product was asked which players were in his NBA and WNBA Mount Rushmore.

Flagg took Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, LeBron James and Kobe Bryant as his best selections in the NBA. For the female game, he called Candace Parker, Brittney Griner and A’ja Wilson.

For his last choice in the WNBA, FlagG appointed the Indiana fever Star and described his choice, saying that he believes he has earned that place due to his impact on female basketball.
“I could put Caitlin Clark there, just because the game has changed so much and is heading in the right direction,” he told reporters on Friday. “I love what he has been able to do.”
Clark was the first general selection in 2024 WNBA Draft after an outstanding career in Iowa. He had an immediate impact on professionals, helping fever to make an appearance in the playoffs for the first time since 2016. He was appointed rookie of the WNBA year in a season that saw the audience and record assistance.

The audience boost includes fans like flagg.
“Honestly, it means a lot to me, see how far they have come, and I will keep looking,” Flagg said while attending the Dallas wings Game at home against fever on Friday night.
“I am a great admirer, so it is really great to be here and be in this environment and see a great game.”

Clark was marginalized from Friday’s confrontation, losing his second consecutive game due to a groin injury. The fever still survived the wings in the 94-86 victory, where Paige Bueckers, the first general selection in the 2025 WNBA draft, fell 27 points.
