- Similar products in Temu Spark Authenticity concerns
- The Temu review system faces scrutiny amid manipulation signs
- The price only does not dethrone Amazon – Temu must gain the consumption of consumer confidence
The Chinese electronic commerce giant Temu has become a strong competitor for Amazon by offering significantly lower prices in a wide range of products in recent months
A new Omnisend report has affirmed that Temu prices are, on average, 40% lower for articles that coincide with Amazon’s lists. The site is largely based on discounts to attract buyers, with about 65% of its lists with underpants, compared to 47% in Amazon, and some items see price cuts of up to 98%.
Temu has won traction in economic categories such as clothes, such as clothes, shoes, jewels and beauty products, where it offers cheaper alternatives to Amazon. The overlap in these categories is high, with a 94% coincidence rate for elements listed on both platforms. However, despite its aggressive discount, you still have to overcome Amazon in consumer confidence and product transparency, which can limit your ability to change customer loyalty.
Consumer Price and Perception Strategies
Amazon is still dominant in segments sensitive to trust such as automotive products, where it constantly offers lower prices, being approximately 12% cheaper than Temu. Buyers also favor Amazon for food and drinks, where the Temu party rate is the lowest.
Amazon also has an advantage in electronics and appliances, where factors such as guarantees, reliable reviews and trust customer service play an important role in purchase decisions.
It also maintains an advantage in Consumer Trust, partly due to its solid review system. Amazon’s average product has around 50,000 reviews, while Temu listings generally have only 1,500.
Researchers have found signs of possible review manipulation in TEMU, such as the disappearance of negative reviews and low -rating products that meet in new listings. While Amazon also faces problems with false reviews, their application measures are more transparent.
Meanwhile, many Temu listings are very similar to well -known brands, but have altered containers or blurred logos, which raises doubts about authenticity.
Ultimately, the ability to compete with Amazon depends not only on the lowest prices but also on construction credibility. While deep discounts attract buyers aware of the budget, trust and reliability remain crucial for long -term consumer preference.
On the subject of trust – Temu and similar markets have attracted millions in the last year, but, in September 2024, Temu denied a violation of data that relates to a database that contains 87 million personal information from users.
