The Chinese envoy praises PAF for ‘commendable use of Chinese equipment’


The Chinese ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong asked for the marshal of the air chief Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu during an official visit to the Air headquarters in Islamabad on Tuesday, the army’s media wing reported.

During the meeting, both dignitaries participated in a comprehensive and deep discussion that covered a wide range of subjects, including commitments at the corporate level, defense cooperation and the geostrategic environment evolving in the region, according to public relations between services (ISPR).

Emphasizing the importance of cohesive and collaborative approaches to address emerging challenges, they highlighted the need to maintain the maximum operational preparation and guarantee rapid coordination in the midst of the prevailing regional security dynamics, according to the statement.

The air chief welcomed the distinguished guest and reiterated that Pakistan and China enjoy historical relationships and tested in time rooted in mutual trust, strategic convergence and shared aspirations of regional peace and stability.

Referring to the lasting bilateral relationship, he described Pakistan and China as “iron brothers”, noting that his link has only been strengthened throughout the decades and is ready to deepen even more through sustained cooperation and association, he added.

The head of the air staff expressed his gratitude to the People’s Republic of China for his continuous support and unwavering friendship. He also recognized China’s instrumental role in helping the modernization of Pakistan’s defense and technological advancement, particularly in the domains of human resources development, technology transfer and research and collaborative development.

Both parties reaffirmed their mutual commitment to institutionalize high -level regular exchanges, expand joint operating exercises and explore multilateral frameworks to reinforce collective responses to emerging threats, said the ISPR.

Ambassador Zaidong praised the unmatched operational excellence of Pakistan Air Force personnel during the recent confrontation in the Eastern Front, describing it as a reflection of the high standards of PAF and the unwavering commitment to national defense, he added.

He praised the professionalism of the PAF and its commendable use of Chinese equipment and technology to frustrate hostile aggression.

The ambassador also recognized the operational effectiveness and strategic insight of the PAF to use indigenous solutions and advanced systems to protect national interests under the visionary leadership of the Air Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu.

By reaffirming the lasting support of China, he assured the complete technical assistance to the Pakistan Air Force to further strengthen his air defense capabilities, the statement said.

In addition, he praised Pakistan’s commitment to self -sufficiency, noting that PAF’s investment in indigenous technological processes has begun to obtain promising results. He stressed that a continuous approach in his own harvest innovation would further raise the country’s defense position, he added.

This high -level meeting is a testimony of the shared resolution of Pakistan and China to advance further in its strategic association tested over time through the deepest defense cooperation and the collaboration promoted by innovation, the statement concluded.
