The former center of the New York Jets, Nick Mangold, put a city of New Jersey in the explosion during the weekend after the city officials did not observe the proclamation of President Donald Trump, ordering that the United States flags in government buildings be flown in the middle of the staff in honor of the conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

But while Madison, the home of the former NFL star, postponed to the state, other neighboring cities decided to pay tribute to Kirk, who was killed in Utah while talking at an event of the campus.

Florham Park and East Hanover, both in Morris County, and at the Summit in Union County, observed the presidential proclamation that requested that the United States flag flew half the staff from Wednesday, September 10 until September 14.

In a statement to Pak Gazette Digital, the mayor of Florham Park, Mark Taylor, called Kirk a “great patriot” and said that the flags in the municipality remained in the middle of the staff as of Tuesday.

“Yes, Florham Park has heard the president’s order and we are still flying the flags at half -mast in honor of the great patriot, Charlie Kirk.”

East Hanover confirmed that the municipality also acted “according to the proclamation.” The city of Summit told Pak Gazette Digital that the flag was flown in the personal environment in the City Council, the Library and the Community Center until Sunday.

Trump’s proclamation occurred after Kirk, 31, was killed on Wednesday during an event of the Campus at Utah Valley University. The married father of two children was beaten by a single bullet and then pronounced dead. Tyler Robinson, A 22 -year -old Utah resident was arrested as a suspect in the murder.

State and local officials in New Jersey were criticized when Mangold led to a government building in Madison over the weekend and pointed out that the city did not observe the presidential proclamation.

“I am disgusted and saddened by my city (Madison) and my state (New Jersey),” he wrote in X. “This is wrong at many levels … when an American husband and father were killed by expressing their right to freedom of expression.”

The officials in Madison issued a statement that responded to criticism, noting that the municipality was simply following the daily state of the state flag.

“During the weekend, we receive questions about the decrease in the US flag in the municipality. Madison’s policy is to follow the daily state of the New Jersey state flag, which can be found here,” reads the statement. “During the weekend, the State was ‘full personal’. Madison’s district condemns all forms of political violence and rejects hatred in all forms.

State and local governments are not legally obliged to comply with presidential proclamations. Pak Gazette Digital has communicated with Murphy’s office to comment. The mayor of Morris Plains, Jason Karr, told Pak Gazette Digital that the flags were not reduced to the half -mast in his district because he was not aware of the presidential proclamation.

He pointed out that while the flag was reduced for September 11, Thursday, he rose to the staff of the next day and during the weekend.

“Given the nature of recent events, the district of Morris Plains did not receive the usual notification with respect to the directive to reduce the US flag. At no time there was an intention of lack of respect for the president of the United States or the Kirk family,” Karr said in a statement. “Tragic circumstances clearly justified the decrease in flags, and the municipality would have taken immediate measures if the notification had been received or transmitted to any official of the municipality.

“I do not support or approve the actions taken against Charlie Kirk and I offer my most sincere condolences to Erika, their children and their whole family during this difficult time. This unfortunate supervision should not be politicized. At times like these, it is important that we rise above the division. Both the left and the right should be together under the US eagle, so our nation can continue in unity in unity.”

Meanwhile, in Texas, Governor Greg Abbott ordered that all state government buildings comply with the proclamation.

“Cecilia and I are disconsolate by the murder and death of Charlie Kirk,” said Abbott. “Charlie’s voice was a lighthouse for millions of young Americans who were looking for truth, courage and conviction. This act of insensitive violence does not take place in the United States. Our prayers are with Charlie’s family and her loved ones, especially the two young children she leaves. Texas meets them in the mourning and honor of the durable legacy of Charlie.”
