- Microsoft Designer’s portable computer concept is not real, but we want someone to do it
In his spare time, Brazos de Pina, main designer of products in Microsoft, presents some incredible hardware concepts that we want them to be real, and share them on their website, and the pages of Behance and Instagram.
Although the concept of compact laptop A_77 occurred more than a year ago, I just came across him and wanted to share the device with any other person who could have lost.
The A_77 began its life as a simple 3D model of a small keyboard. De Pina then added a screen and ports, and finally shaped the model to a fully made portable computer.
COPILOT KEY
The process gave the device an unusual way that looks very different from traditional designs.
The keyboard itself is the defining element. It has a 65% design with function keys at the top, a large exhaust key and a bright orange ignition button.
A copilot key is next to the space bar (although this is not an official Microsoft product, it works there, so a co -ilot key would always be part of the design), while a ThinkPad style cloud under the Enter key offers cursor control.
The speakers sit along the lower edge, taking full advantage of the compact frame.
The screen, which according to Pina is enabled for touch, does not adhere to standard -looking relationships like 16: 9. Instead, it resembles an enlarged smartphone screen, giving the device an unconventional but still practical format.
This choice, combined with the small footprint, causes the laptop to feel portable and accessible.
The appearance of the A_77 is where it breaks the most of the current design trends.
Instead of metal finishes, use plastic in striking colors, such as yellow, blue and white.
Fans ventilations are aligned on the sides and back, and four USB-C ports are divided evenly into both edges.
Its compact size makes it easy to imagine carrying in a pocket of the jacket, and the USB-C load would eliminate the need for an voluminous external charger.
Although it is only a concept, the A_77 shows how laptops can be reinvented to bring personality and function, something that I would personally love to see much more.
