According to reports, Nintendo Switch 2 and other games consoles will be affected by a 145% tariff of the United States on imported goods made in China.
That is according to an internal evaluation memorandum of an “important provider of Apple and Nintendo” seen by Nikkei Asia, which declared that the consoles made in China, as the highly anticipated Switch 2, are probably affected by the current commercial war.
Although the Trump administration recently announced that certain technological products will be exempt from “reciprocal” rates, the president of the United States, Donald Trump, has now confirmed (through the BBC) this will not be the case and that smartphones and other Chinese manufacturing electronics move to a “bucket” of different tax.
This means that any electronics manufactured in China, such as some units of Nintendo Switch 2, will be affected and potentially cost.
After the long -awaited Switch 2 Direct and the tax tariffs, Nintendo announced that the early orders of the United States have been delayed from their original April 9 “to assess the potential impact of tariffs and evolutionary market conditions.”
Since then, the anticipated orders of Canada have also been delayed, but Nintendo has confirmed that the launch date of the console has not changed and will provide buyers of us and of us a new anticipated order date soon.
The Nintendo Switch 2 officially launches on June 5, 2025 and will cost $ 449.99 / £ 395.99 or $ 499.99 / £ 429.99 for a Mario de Mario Kart bunch. Advance orders are now live in the United Kingdom.
