Martin made the pro Bowl nine times and was appointed All-Pro seven times. Throughout his illustrious career, Martin only had seven accepted sanctions, matching his number of All-Pro selections.

Since he was generally recruited in the NFL 2014 Draft of Notre Dame, Martin became an anchor of the offensive line of the cowboys. The only two years that Martin did not do the Pro Bowl were the only seasons in which he played less than 14 games.

Only Bob Lilly (11), Larry Allen (10), Mel Renfro (10) and Jason Witten (11) did the Pro Bowl more times than Martin in the history of the cowboys.

Lilly, Allen and Renfro are the Hall of Fame Pro Football, while Witten is eligible for the first time this season.

The only player with more All-Pro selections of the first team since Martin entered the League in 2014 is Aaron Donald, who has eight and will be a member of the First Wall Hall of Fame once eligible.

Martin considered to withdraw in the preseason of 2023, when he was holding a new contract, but then agreed to a reworking contract that was essentially a two -year agreement.

With Martin, Travis Frederick and Tyron Smith, the cowboys had one of the best offensive lines in the NFL. Smith was the unconditional left Tackle that made eight professional bowls, with Frederick as the center and Martin as right guard.

Smith left for New York Jets at free agency before last season.

Frederick retired surprisingly after his sixth season in 2019. He was set aside for 2018 by Guillain-Barré syndrome, an autoimmune disorder that affects the nervous system. Frederick decided after returning for a season he could not do with his expectations.

Smith, Martin and Frederick were the first round selections of the cowboys in 2011, 2014 and 2013, and beat them all. Now everyone is gone, and the cowboys seek to rebuild their offensive line.

Brock Hoffman began at the place of Martin at the end of last season and figures to continue on that role, since the cowboys seek to return to the playoffs after going 7-10 last season.
