The Security and Security Manager of the International Cricket Council (ICC), Dave Musker, praised the arrangements made by the Pakistani authorities for the 2025 Champions Trophy, whose country’s leg was concluded after organizing the second semifinal party between South Africa and New Zealand.
Sharing their views on the eight team tournament, Musker thanked the police, the rangers and the Pakistani army for guaranteeing infallible safety arrangements for the equipment and staff of the CPI.
Security institutions provided full cooperation throughout the tournament, expressed their thoughts before the second semifinal played at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
He admitted that some teams had shown reservations about traveling to Pakistan before the beginning of the Marquesina event.
“This has been a brilliant tournament,” said the CPI manager, added that he will demonstrate a very positive image of Pakistan, his people and their security institutions worldwide.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) successfully organized the CPI tournament, which began on February 19, with a total of 15 games in the stadiums of the renewed household and in the United Arab Emirates (EAU) under a hybrid model agreed with India.
Only a few months before the start of the tournament, the Cricket Control Board in India (BCCI) refused to send its national male team to Pakistan, citing security concerns.
The BCCI refusal caused a severe reaction of the Cricket board of Pakistan (PCB), which resulted in a long confrontation between the two Cricket bodies.
Therefore, the final match of the tournament will be played in a neutral place, Dubai, between India and New Zealand on March 9, which would mark the conclusion of the ICC event, organized by Pakistan for the first time in almost three decades.
However, Green’s men, who also defended the champions of the title, did not leave a brand, since they were eliminated without even advancing to the semifinals after the consecutive defeats in the group matches.
Pakistan, who was in group A alongside India, New Zealand and Bangladesh, finished his trip with disappointing figures when they remained in the table of points after two losses and his last game against Bangladesh was eliminated.
