Chatgpt’s deep research has proven to be incredibly popular. It acts as a team of researchers who run online and investigate a complex topic for you before returning with a full report, including sources, on the subject you have asked you to investigate.
For example, using deep investigation, I could ask ChatgPP to compile a report on how the game industry has changed in the last three years and would answer with a complete report with data and sources tables.
Deep research is in the category of an AI agent because it can act independently. Effectively, it gives you a task and investigates it before using your AI to apply the reasoning before reaching conclusions.
Pro to Plus
Profunde Research began at the professional level of Chatgpt, which costs a whopping $ 200 (£ 165 / au $ 325) per month, but very quickly moved to the most reasonable levels of $ 20 (£ 16 / au $ 30) more, where I have been enjoying it during the last weeks.
It was always the plan that deep reasoning would move to the free level of Chatgpt eventually, but it seems that this can happen sooner rather than later.

While this is obviously great news for free level users, he doubts if it is worth paying the more chatgpt level. I think it is, and I will give you some reasons why:
1. Less limitations
Of course, deep research can reach the free level of chatgpt very soon, but I bet it is limited to just a small sample of uses per day.
If you have been following the recent collapse of the Chatgpt server caused by the version of its native image generation skills, you will know that ChatgPT has limited its images of generation of images to only three images at the free level.
Being able to generate only three images a day is irremediably restrictive, and although they can increase the limit in the future, I would expect the release of deep investigations in nature to obtain an equally large response from the public, causing another collapse of another server and difficult restrictions imposing at the free level.
Basically, everything is limited at the free level, including things like how many files can be loaded for chatgpt per day. In the Plus account, you don’t need to worry about that. While there are still some limits, you rarely approach them.
2. More llms
Having a Plus account also comes with a wide range of benefits, but the main one is access to more LLM. At the level more, you can (currently) access Chatgpt 4, 4O-mini, 4, 4o with scheduled tasks, 4.5, O1, O3-mini and O3. That is many options! At the free level, it only has access to chatgpt 4O-mini, with a very limited access to 4O and O3-mini.
You will find that these different LLM are more useful when it comes to performing complex tasks that require more reasoning, not to mention that you have the opportunity to play with the previous view of research of the latest OpenAI model, ChatgPT-4.5.5
3. Sora videos generation
In a Plus account, it obtains limited access to the generation of Sora AI videos. Sora is great, but to use it really correctly and create clips that do not have a water brand that needs a professional account (provided it is in the US.) At least you can experiment with it in the Plus account, which is very fun.
4. You can talk to chatgpt and make it answer
Advanced Voice Mode is one of Chatgpt’s best features, and needs a Plus account to access it for more than 15 minutes per month. 15 minutes is really just a preview of the function, and you will find that you run out of time before you have really had the opportunity to explore.
There are a variety of different voices available for you to choose, and makes Chatgpt feel more personal and intimate.
You can access the advanced voice mode from the chatgpt website or its various applications, including mobile devices, and for many people, it is their preferred way to use chatgpt.
Those are the main benefits of using chatgpt plus, but, of course, you also get everything you get at the free level, including the Chatgpt canvas and the search for chatgpt.
Although the search in ChatgPT is available both in free and more accounts, there are some other features that only obtains with more similar projects, which is a way of grouping files and chats, tasks, which can be programmed for another time and the ability to create custom GPTS, so that you can create exactly the type of chatbot you want for a specific task.
In general, there are good reasons more than enough to maintain its chatgpt plus subscription, even if there is a deep investigation available at the free level. I think you would find that returning to the free level of the joys of a positive subscription would be a deeply frustrating experience.
