Julius Onah, the director of Captain America: Brave New World, He explained why Mark Ruffalo Hulk could not be part of the last film.
For not versed, Captain America: Brave New WorldThe new Marvel movie, presents Anthony Mackie as the new captain America and some characters from The incredible helmet Return, but Ruffalo Hulk is not in the movie.
Talking with The playlist, The director Oona shared that the film is “completely based on Sam Wilson” and was destined to focus only on it.
He explained that adding to Hulk would have “diverted the attention” of Sam, saying: “This is Sam’s first film adventure as Captain America. And you want it to be that Sam be tilted in his superpower to overcome the probabilities.”
“Then, you attract Banner, as well as Mark Ruffalo and as exciting as having him and suddenly, the approach moves away from Sam. The conversation obviously arose, but ultimately, he felt as if he wanted to be Sam’s movie,” Oona said.
It is pertinent to mention that Captain America: Brave New World released on February 14, 2025.
