The director of ‘Hitch’ looks back in ‘Battle’ with Will Smith

Andy Tennant, director of HitchHe revealed that he had difficulty dealing with Will Smith during the production of romantic comedy of 2005.

The film where the Oscar winner plays a professional appointment doctor is considered one of his best successes.

However, the Bad Guys Star had creative differences with the filmmaker, which the latter described as a “battle.”

“We had our difficulties. The movie I wanted to make and the movie wanted to make any of those films as good as the movie we made together,” he told Business Insider.

“It was a battle. [Smith’s wife] Jada [Pinkett Smith] It was a great help. She seconded some of my instincts. There was a time during preparation when I was going back. A lot of crazy shit that was happening. “

The filmmaker recalled that the differences with him began to appear from the beginning.

“There was a draft of the one who caused that he was not a fan. I finally told the studio that I was afraid to make that version of the film than to them that shot me,” the 69 -year -old man added.

“Because I knew they were right on the verge of saying goodbye before starting to shoot. And for Will’s credit, we didn’t go with that draft. I don’t think it’s in favor of anyone.”

The dead point deepened so much that Andy said that Will “tried to go back three days before starting to shoot” to work in the script, pointing out: “I wanted to close and work on it a little more. It was crazy.”

But in the end, when the shooting began, he said that the differences gradually began to soften.

“It was a lot of good creative people who did their best.
