- A hands-on video of the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 has been leaked
- The vlogging gimbal camera should be about to start up
- It looks like an LED light fixture will be available
We must be very close to the official launch of the successor to the DJI Osmo Pocket 3, because the leaks keep coming, and the latest thing that catches our attention is a hands-on video of the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 being tested in a store.
This comes from The New Camera (via Android Authority), and the video was apparently filmed by employees at DJI’s official outlet in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, after a customer brought in one of the yet-unannounced vlogging cameras.
While the original video has since been deleted, The New Camera was able to upload it to its own YouTube channel, so we can still get a good look at what’s in store for us soon. The layout is largely the same, although there are now two additional buttons on the control panel; At the moment, it’s unclear exactly what they do.
Based on previous leaks, it appears that the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 will have the same screen size as its predecessor (2 inches, corner to corner), but there has been talk that it will be brighter than before and there are rumors of an increase in battery capacity as well.
a light shines
Perhaps the most notable new revelation in this leak is the addition of an LED light to the top of the DJI Osmo Pocket 4. According to The New Camera, it will be an optional accessory – you’ll be able to purchase it in one of the bundles offered with the camera.
The same source places the estimated launch price between $549 and $699. There are no prices for countries outside the US, but considering the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 had a starting price of $519 / £489 / AU$849, it looks like a price increase could be imminent.
However, it’s unclear if those two prices include exactly the same deals in terms of what’s included with the camera (like extra batteries). It’s been more than two years since the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 was released, so its successor could bring some surprises.
With the ban on new DJI products now in place in the US, we’ll have to wait and see if the camera launches there, although it may have achieved regulatory approval just in time, according to previous leaks.
