- Several leaks have made statements about the dynamic island of the iPhone 17
- A new report says that it will undergo a “significant evolution”
- But the statements are so vague that they really tell us very little
If you have been up to date with the last rumors of iPhone 17, you have probably heard that Apple’s next iPhone could come with a redesigned dynamic island. That idea has just been reinforced by a prominent filter, although its publication is frustratingly short in solid details.
In a new interview with the Spanish Site Applex4, Leaker Majin Bu has intervened his thoughts about the next changes in the dynamic Island. There, they said that the characteristic is established for a “significant evolution.”
They added: “Apple seems committed to doing [the Dynamic Island] More functional and integrated, making it a key element of the user experience. This development could mark a step forward in the interaction of the device, but for now, I will maintain more details in Wraps. Are attentive to see how this innovation develops. “
This information occurs after the Chinese Leaker Chat Station commented on Dynamic Island last week, saying that it would get a new design. Digital Chat Station has previously stated that the dynamic Island will be reduced to its smallest size on iPhone 17, but that contradicts the belief of Apple Ming-Chi Kuo analyst, who argued in January that the dynamic island would continue “largely unchanged” in this year’s iPhones.
Is this new?
While it is a somewhat divisive characteristic of modern iPhones, I am a great admirer of the dynamic island. That means that I pay close attention every time someone talks about how they could change in future Apple devices.
I would love to see a thinner dynamic island, or even one that disappears completely until it is necessary. The latter would require the use of cameras under the screen and facial identification sensors, but could combine the beauty of an uninterrupted screen with the functionality of the dynamic island.
Unfortunately, we do not get anything like that of Majin Bu, whose last statements are extremely vague to the point of being basically not verifiable. They have not shared anything remarkable, apart from saying that the dynamic island is due to the change in a nebulous and important way, which feels like a safe way to say very little.
Apple, surely, would also argue that the dynamic island is already Both “functional and integrated” as “a key element of the user experience”. While Majin Bu could have exclusive information here, his elusivity and his refusal to share solid details could be an indication that the opposite is really true.
Majin BU has a mixed history when it comes to apple leaks. Some of their predictions have been in money, while others have been of the brand. That, combined with the vagueness of his latest dynamic statements of the island, means that we must treat this last rumor with a healthy degree of skepticism until more reliable information arises.
