Eagles Philadelphia Chief coach Nick Sirianni is proud of the polarizing “thrust” and discovers that calls to ban the work are “a bit insulting.”
Talking to the media in the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine In Indianapolis on Tuesday, Sirianni addressed the recent controversy around the characteristic work of the Eagles.

For Sirianni, the Eagles have perfected the work, which makes it easy. But do not make mistakes, that has required a lot of work.

“I almost feel a little insulted because we work very hard on that play. The amount of things we have investigated on how to train that game, the fundamentals, there are a thousand plays out there, but it is how you teach the foundations and how the players happen and do so with the foundations.”
He continued: “It’s a bit insulting to say: ‘We are good at that, so it’s automatic.’ We work very hard on that.”

The “Tush Push” has become a favorite for Philadelphia in the red zone. Field Marshal Jalen Hurts scored the first touchdown of Super Bowl Lix using the work. But for some around the league, the play has become a problem.

Other teams have tried to use the play, but none as successful as the Eagles.
And Sirianni does not believe that they must be punished for that.
“There is a lot of time in it. The fact that it is a successful play for the Eagles and people want to remove that, I think it is a bit unfair.”
