A prison count in the Malir prison has revealed that 225 prisoners, not 216 as reported initially, escaped on June 3, arose on Tuesday.
The new prison administration carried out an exhaustive review and discovered that nine more prisoners, not included in the original report, had escaped from the prison.
The Superintendent of the Malir prison, Shahabuddin Siddiqi, wrote to the Malir SP investigation department, notifying him the revised escape count.
Siddiqi declared in the letter that he took care of the jail on June 4 and initiated a complete audit during the EID holidays, which led to the identification of the 10 additional missing prisoners.
From now on, 146 prisoners have been recaptured, while 79 are still fleeing. A prisoner was listed twice on the escape list.
It has been confirmed that one of the escapes, Pervez Masi race, committed suicide in the Maripur Madina Col Col Col Col Col Col Col Col Col Col Col Col Colgo’s area, while another died after receiving a shot after her escape.
Previously, there was a Jailbreak in the Malir prison on June 3 early in the morning when the inmates broke the prison wall and tried to flee, which caused a quick and strong response of the law enforcement agencies.
The area surrounding the prison has been cordoned off as part of an intensified hunt.
According to the initial reports, the shots exploded in the vicinity of the prison after the escape attempt.
Police forces, aided by other units of application of the law, quickly mobilized and launched a large -scale search operation to stop the fugitives.
Police have urged citizens to avoid the area and inform any suspicious activity immediately. Formal investigation on security violation is expected once the situation is put under control.
