- The type of the style sinking is configured for the launch in the fourth quarter of 2026
- Will pack a four -third sensor and lenses support
- The dimensions and weight are similar to those of a ricoh gr III
Despite a growing demand for compact and pocket cameras, most of the big brands continue to leave that market alone. Pass in the French Startup of Private Financing, the Shining Chamber.
It is currently a concept in the prototype development stage with a projected launch and delivery in the fourth quarter of 2026, but the initial models of the shale camera and the potential characteristics excited many photographers when they appeared online yesterday.
We are seeing a clean minimalist television style camera with a four -thirds sensor and lens support, that is a size similar to a rich gr IV (like a deck of cards). Depending on the lens that occurs to him, this could be a genuinely pocket chamber.
Many are already making comparisons with the Panasonic Lumix GM5 widely admired (2014), a small MFT camera that Panasonic no longer does despite the pleas of its fans.
Being a User of Ricoh GR IIIX and with a price of buying a Leica, I can certainly see the appeal of that camera, which is projected that will cost between 1,500-2,000 USD / GBP.
There is still much to decide regarding the design and characteristics of the shale camera, but let’s make a quick trip of what we already know and how photographers are responding to the concept so far.
Well, if Panasonic no …
The Esquisse camera focuses on creating a small high quality minimalist camera that looks like the part, and the models, although obviously they are not definitive, are a promising beginning.
The aluminum body in the style of the telemeter, outdoors, presents only three exposure dials at the top, two function buttons, a reproduction and a click wheel. A 3.69m Dotes is involved in the corner, while a 3 -inch touch screen dominates the rear, which indicates how small the camera will be.
It will measure 105 × 70 × 35 mm, that is, a stab larger than a Ricoh GR III, and weigh a total of 350 g (without a connected lens).
We do not need to take into account the additional weight of a battery and memory, because those components are internal. That’s right, a non -removable battery and an internal memory of 256 GB.
The thought behind an internal battery is to keep the design as clean and solid as possible, but the early response is that such design option will be a decisive factor for some. Meanwhile, photos of internal memory can be shared through USB or wirelessly, but there is no memory card slot, as in Sigma BF.
This will be a Micro Four Thirds camera only by photography, shooting fixed images of 20MP and without video, with ‘acquisition of automatic lightning approach’.
In essence, we are seeing a small micro Four Thirds of premium quality that could be a fun alternative of Leica and Fujifilm as a daily transport. Côme Courteault of Esquisse Camera told me:
“Our vision is to create a camera that combines the sensation of a timeless shooting of a leic m, the pocket of a rich gr and the modern performance of the micro Four Thirds system today.”
This will not be the first telemet style in France: See the manual approach only Pixii. However, it could be the most accessible.
I will be closely in this project and how the camera develops. Will a Hotshoe support be added? Will there be any change of U in any aspect of the concept already shared? I am excited to see more!
