NFL runners generally have a shorter life than players in other positions because physical toll carriers often last.
Sometimes, turning 30 has sometimes seen, since points runners can start decreasing.
Matt Breida, who turned 30 earlier this year, decided to get away from the NFL only weeks before the regular season is scheduled to start.

Breida played for the last time for New York giants. He began his professional football career with the San Francisco 49ers and returned to the Niners in 2024, spending part of the preseason with the team.
Breida also had periods with the Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills in his seven -year professional career.

According to ESPN, Breida chose to retire and rejected an invitation to return south of Florida to do a training with the Dolphins.
Breida was not recruited from the University of Georgia Southern in 2017.

Breida obtained the initial role of runners with the niners in 2018. He finished the season with 814 yards by land. In his two seasons with the giants, Breida appeared in 34 games.

Breida will end his NFL career with 2,652 yards by land. He also scored 19 touchdowns by land.
The Dallas Cowboys will visit the current Super Bowl champion, Philadelphia Eagles, on September 4 to open the 2025 season.
