The Federal Ministry of Professional Education and Training has made an order for 8,000 Chromebooks for its public educational institutions, said Express News.
The order follows an online bidding process provided by the National Book Foundation, where representatives of 11 companies participated.
Ten companies presented financial offers, and the contract was granted to the company that offers the lowest price.
Chromebooks are expected to be delivered in two months, with strict quality control measures to guarantee the standards of the products provided.
This initiative is part of government efforts to improve the quality of education in public schools through the introduction of digital learning tools.
Previously, the Federal Directorate of Education in Islamabad had announced changes in the operational hours of educational institutions in the Federal Capital for the winter season.
According to the notification, the schools on Fridays operated from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm
The morning shift institutions opened at 8:30 am and closed at 1:30 pm the schools in the afternoon shift were open from 1:30 pm to 6:00 pm
These tight times aimed to accommodate the shortest daylight hours during the winter season, ensuring a more efficient schedule for both students and teachers.
