The president of the United States, Donald Trump, will be the host of the Army Personnel Chief (COAS), Field Marshal Syed also Munir, for lunch today in the White House.

The meeting, which appears in the official calendar of the president, will take place in the Cabinet Room at 10 pm standard time of Pakistan (PST) and is closed to the press, according to the public calendar of the president of the United States.

The visit also follows the aerial skirmish last month between India and Pakistan, which raised regional tensions. Field Marshall Munir is on an official five -day trip to the United States.

Recently promoted to a five -star rank, Pakistan’s first elevation since 1959, Coas has reached the headlines during his tour.

In a speech to the Pakistani American community in Washington, he urged India to abandon regional domain and requested the commitment “as a civilized nation.”

He rejected the Indian accusations that link Pakistan with Pahalgam’s attack, calling them pretext for cross -border attacks. “We prefer to hug the martyrdom than to accept this dishonor,” he said.

The event, held at the Four Seasons hotel in Georgetown, obtained strong diaspora support. Attendees greeted the field marshal with pink petals and slogans, while protesters aligned by Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) outside asked democratic reforms and the release of imprisoned leaders.

The field marshal also expressed the support of Pakistan to Iran in his war with Israel, while supporting the efforts of the United States to reduce the conflict. “We want this war to end immediately,” he said.

Meanwhile, General Michael Kurilla, head of the United States Central Command, had called Pakistan a “phenomenal companion” in the fight against Daesh-Khorasan (Daesh-K).

Kurilla told the legislators that the Pakistani forces, helped by American intelligence, had killed dozens of Daesh-K terrorists and captured several main agents, including Mohammad Sharifullah, a planner of the Kabul 2021 airport bombing that killed 13 US troops.

Kurilla said Munir called him personally after the arrest, saying: “I caught him, ready to extradite him back to the United States.” Sharifullah was delivered to US authorities.

In comments to Congress, Kurilla praised the continuous operations of Pakistan along the Afghan border and said that the country continues to play a central role in regional counterterrorism.

Despite facing more than 1,000 terrorist incidents last year, Kurilla said Pakistan “has been a phenomenal partner in the world of counterterrorism.”

Coas, during his speech before the diaspora, also praised the Pakistani abroad for their economic contributions and dismissed the concerns about brain escape.
