Apple’s iPhone chips are undoubtedly the fastest mobile offers on the market, but their performance profits have been so good that they are even beginning to challenge respectable desktop chips, and it seems that the A19 PRO on the last iPhone 17 Pro continues that trend.
As seen by the Jukanlosreve filtration in X, a chip claimed to be the A19 Pro recently published a single Geekbench 6 core score of 3,895, along with a score of multiple nuclei of 9,746. Although we cannot independently verify that score, the iPhones containing the iPhone 17 Pro will not launch until September 19, it seems to be an incredibly impressive result if necessary.
This is because it exceeds the rival chip of Qualcomm’s rival for a considerable 36%, and offers a 11% increase on the reference point of a single nucleus achieved by its predecessor A18 Pro (the chip that was found in the iPhone 16 Pro series).
That means that if you are looking for the fastest smartphone money you can buy, an Apple device equipped with the A19 Pro is the way to follow. The iPhone 17 Pro, the iPhone 17 Pro Max and the iPhone Air come with this chip (although the version of the iPhone Air has a less core of graphics compared to its sibling devices).
Streets ahead
What is even more striking is that the score of a single nucleus of the A19 PRO is faced face to face with desk class chips such as AMD Ryzen 9 9950x, Intel Core I9-14900ks and Apple’s own M4, as Tom hardware pointed out. That gives some credibility to Apple’s statement that the A19 pro pack in “MacBook pro computation levels”.
According to Tom Hardware, the A19 Pro is just under 12% faster than AMD Ryzen 9950x and about 16% faster than the Intel Core I9-14900ks in reference points of a single nucleus. Taking into account that these are high -end desktop processors, that is a remarkable achievement.
That said, you should not expect the A19 to exceed desktop chips when it comes to multiple nuclei, and AMD and Intel offers come out at top here, so it is not yet time to sell your PC.
Even so, the reference results show what extraordinary engineering work Apple has made with its chip A19 Pro. When it comes to mobile performance, Apple is ahead.
