The Minnesota Twins are moving from the manager Rocco Baldelli, who spent the last seven seasons leading the club.
Baldelli won three central titles of the American League with Minnesota, but after disappointing consecutive years, the team is directed in a new direction.
“This is a difficult day due to what Rocco represents so many people here,” said the president of the twins, Derek Falvey, in a statement. “He led with honesty, integrity and an unwavering commitment to our players and the staff. He gave himself completely to this role and I have tremendous respect and gratitude for the way he took and the way he appeared every day.”
