Former Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Pervez Khattak, decided to join Jamiat Ulema-E-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) and will formally announce his decision on February 22, said Express News.
The former PTI leader met the Chief of Jui-F, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, and confirmed his decision to join the party. His brother, Liaqat Khattak, was also present during the meeting.
The two leaders maintained broad discussions before the end of the move. Khattak is ready to make the official announcement during a press conference at Manki Sharif, Nowshera, along with Rehman.
It should be noted that Khattak was the provincial president of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf in KP. He served as BP Prime Minister during PTI’s mandate from 2013 to 2018.
However, in June 2023, Khattak had announced his resignation of all the positions of the party following May 9 after the arrest of the president of the Imran Khan party.
Shortly after, Khattak, an assistant close to former Prime Minister Imran Khan, had announced the formation of a new political party, ‘Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insaf parliamentary’.
