A former baseball player of the Major League is blaming a former opponent for his injury in his career.
Darin Ruf played on the first basis for the Milwaukee Brewers on June 2, 2023, in a game against the central rival of the National League, Cincinnati Reds. Little knew it would be the final game of his career.
In the third entry, Ruf was pursuing a emerging window in the foul territory when his knee hit the end of the field canvas roller. Ruf cut his knee and jumped from the field with the help of a coach.

RUF’s complaint says that the end of the canvas roller was made of sharp metal and had no cushion or protective cover. The TV transmission of the game said there was a “significant piece of metal … that does not give much.”
Ruf went to the 60 -day injury list and never played again in the major leagues.
His initial lesion, apart from the laceration, was governed a non -displaced fracture of his kneecap. But, according to RUF’s complaint, he suffered “permanent and substantial deformities on his knee.”
“This did not have to happen,” Ruf said in a statement. “I wish it did not happen. Players should not have to worry about hidden dangers like that in a major leagues.”

Man accused of giving alcohol to the fan of the pirates minors who fell in the field: reports
“This was an obvious and avoidable risk,” said Tad Thomas, RUF’s lawyer, in a statement announcing the lawsuit. “There are basic safety protocols that each MLB equipment must follow. Leaving a modern metal roller on the edge of the field is inexcusable.”
The Reds did not respond immediately to a request for comments.
The situation is similar to that of Dustin Fowler. In his major league debut in 2017, a knee was hurt in Chicago after running into an electric box while pursuing a pop fly. Fowler, who would have left the next entry for his first appearance on the plate in the elderly, sued the white socks for negligence.
The Yankees changed him approximately one month after Sonny Gray’s injury, and Fowler’s first MLB success was against Gray the following year.
RUF, 38, played in the over 2012 to 2023 with the Philadelphia Filis (2012-16), the San Francisco giants (2020-22, 2023), the New York Mets (2022) and Los Cerveceros (2023). Hit .239 with a percentage based on .329, 67 homers and 205 races promoted in 582 career games.
