“Many people are often afraid to inform this type of conduct for several reasons,” said ClockMas County Assistant District, Scott Healy, in a statement, according to ESPN.
“Hopefully the strength and courage of the victim in this case give others the strength of presenting themselves in circumstances in which the sexual aggression has occurred. The sentence that the defendant received today should serve as a reminder that this type of conduct will not be tolerated in our community, and that the office of the CLACKAMAS County will always work hard to hold the criminals and provide the victims to the victims.”

The incident occurred in Lake Oswego, Oregon, in October 2021, when McLore was identified as suspect by the authorities after the woman’s complaint.
The woman appeared on video on Wednesday, reading a statement aloud for the court.
“This has been the longest of almost four years of my life. I never imagined that informing this in 2021 would lead to such an incredibly difficult and long trip,” he said, according to ESPN. “These last years have often felt a weight that I have had to drag behind me, a constant reminder of the trauma that I have not been able to work completely because there was no end in sight. Now I understand, at a deep level, why so many victims doubt or never informed what happened to them.”

In February 2024, a grand jury of clackamas county heard evidence in the case, which included the testimony of the woman saying that Mclemore assaulted her. Mclemore was arrested two months later by the American bailiffs.
During the trial, Healy told the jury that the woman passed out on a sofa of living room around 2 in the morning after drinking a lot. She regained partial consciousness the next morning, when Mclemore penetrated her sexually and then proceeded to have sex with her.
The McLore team of lawyers played the claims, saying that he initiated sexual contact and consented to him. The lawyers also said that the woman was sober enough to consent to sexual contact.
McLore, a Kansas product, played nine seasons in the NBA, five with the Sacramento Kings, who took him seventh in general in the NBA Draft of 2013.
He recovered around the league towards the end, playing for the Memphis Grizzlies, the Rockets of Houston, the Los Angeles Lakers and, finally, the Portland Trail Blazers during the 2021-22 season.
